Great new book with contributions from two UKnetrunner members

Two of our club members have contributed to a newly released book on running, and we’ve arranged a 25% discount off the RRP.

  • Prof John Brewer is Professor of Sport at the University of Bedfordshire. He wrote the official London 2012 Training Guide to athletic track events and is a regular columnist for Running Fitness magazine. John has been a member of UKnetrunner since 2007.
  • Prof Andy Lane is Professor of Sport Psychology at the University of Wolverhampton and has contributed the chapter on psychology. Andy has been a member of UKnetrunner since 2014 and won the UKnetrunner of the Year award in 2016.

Running Science uncovers the fundamental science that underpins our ubiquitous sport, bringing together the study of biomechanics, nutrition, psychology, health and injury prevention, and the technical development of shoes and running surfaces: it’s a complete reference. The book is written in plain English with clear presentation so it’s easy for runners to follow.

You can purchase the book from quartoknows.com (club members get a 25% discount - please see our recent email for the Promo Code).

Its a great book. Clearly biased. The idea of making science accessible was the goal. I know I spent a lot of time trying to write in a way that was not academic-speak.
