When you apply to join our club we will ask for some basic information about you so that we can register you with England Athletics. For example, we will ask you for your name, date of birth, address, telephone number and nationality. This information is necessary to process your membership application.
When you are a member, we may also obtain information about your race results from RunBritain. We use this information to automatically add race results to your member profile, use them for the Grand Prix, club handicap events and club records. You can also choose to provide us with your parkrun athlete number so t we can obtain your parkrun results and add them to your member profile.
When you browse our website and chat forum, we will use cookies to gather information about your browsing experience and to keep you logged in if you ask us to remember you. Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer by websites that you visit. They are widely used in order to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the site.
For example, we will gather information about your IP address, browser, operating system, screen size, your location, and when you last visited.
When you are a member you will have access to our club shop. We will use cookies to manage your shopping basket.
When you become a member of, or renew your membership with, UKnetrunner.co.UK we will automatically register you as a member of England Athletics. We will provide England Athletics with your personal information which they will use to enable access to an online portal for you (called myAthletics). England Athletics will contact you to invite you to sign into and update your myAthletics portal (which, amongst other things, allows you to set and amend your privacy settings). If you are successful in the club's ballot for a London Marathon entry, we will pass your name and email address to London Marathon Events Limited so that they can contact you to arrange your application.
We promise not to share your information with anyone else without your consent, unless we are required to do so by law.
We store your personal information on servers based in the United Kingdom.
We sometimes use MailChimp to send emails relating to news about the club and provide them with your name and email address. MailChimp is based in the US and participates in and has certified its compliance with the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework. This ensures an adequate level of protection for your information when it leaves the EU. You can read MailChimp's privacy policy here and are free to opt-out of the MailChimp mailings at any point.
We need to keep your information for as long as you are a member of our running club. If you leave our running club, we will keep your information for a period of no more than two years.
If you are a club record holder, we will maintain a record of your first initial and surname for the purposes of the record.
